Three-lined Salamander

Eurycea guttolineata

Description:

Small salamander with 3 dark stripes on a golden colored back.

Habitat:

On a rock next to a small pool connected to Tails Creek just north of where Tails Creek meets Carter's Lake. Stream next to the pool was ~10 meters across, ~ 1 foot deep, running over bed rock, boulders, and sand.

Notes:

Possibly a Three-lined Salamander (Eurycea guttolineata)? Tail seems to be too short and black dorsal stripe is not solid as seen in field guides and photos.
