Cryptic Sponge Shrimp

Gelastocaris paronae

Description:

A very well camouflaged Shrimp, less than 2 cm in size. They comes in variety of color, all depends on the color of the host - white, cream, brown or red. Hardly visible, except for some white outlines of the Shrimp

The dive guide at Romblon is very good and she knows where all the cool critters lives :D

This cryptic shrimp, lives exclusively on the sponge and not likely to move to another sponge unless disturbed badly. So, once you know its there, its just a matter of going back to the same host/house to look for it again :)
