Cryptoblepharus is indeed represented in Ambon. The species that comes up in searches is Cryptoblepharus keiensis. However not one of the images I found showed any blue on the tail. In fact there are only a couple of species in the genus that showed any blue on the tail in any of my searches. The species that is best known for its blue tail is Cryptoblepharus egeriae which does not occur on Ambon. However its pattern is not similar at all to your specimen, meaning I don't think your spotting is Cryptoblepharus. See Cryptoblepharus egeriae here http://www.arod.com.au/arod/reptilia/Squ... and here http://reptile-database.reptarium.cz/spe... to see what I mean. (I believe images labeled as Cryptoblepharus egeriae on other less authoritative websites that match the pattern of your spotting are mis-identified). Please see my suggestion which I think may be your species. And see my spottings of it here: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/117... and http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/692... and http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/689...
