Catocala amatrix
A lovely moth with bright red hindwings, Catocala amatrix is only one of the amazing species in the Catocala genus which are characterized by bark-colored forewings and striking hindwings, meant to startle potential predators.
Found resting on the side of my sister's chicken coop.
