Description:

This fungus begins by infecting the mushroom's pores as a white, powdery mold. It quickly spreads across the mushroom, sometimes engulfing it entirely and distorting its growth.

Habitat:

There were four boletes growing within a couple feet of each other. They were growing on the ground in a mixed forest.
