Acanthoclonia Phasmid

Description:

Apparently this is a subadult male. It was around 5cm long, with spiny protrusions on head and thorax, spines on abdomen and legs are much smaller. Base colour is a pale cream with darker irregular markings and green on the spiny protrusions. On a leaf it's quite conspicuous, but almost impossible to make out among thick vegetation.

Habitat:

Tropical rainforest in the Ecuadorian Amazon region, near Tena.
