Common Clubtail

Description:

Between 10-12cm wingspan; the long and narrow forewings are black with pale markings between the veins; hindwings velvety black with white and red markings, ending in the clubbed tails which give the butterfly its name. The head and underside of the abdomen are pinkish.

Habitat:

I saw this butterfly on low shaded foliage in thick lowland rainforest near Krabi town in Thailand.
