Description:

Yellow and black syrphid fly. This fly is also known as a yellowjacket hoverfly or a "good news bee." Applachian folklore states that these flies hover in front of people in order to impart good news.

Habitat:

Perching on a loofah flower on an organic farm surrounded my mixed hardwood and pine forest.
