Harlequin Ladybird Larva

Harmonia axyridis

Description:

Larva that looks like it's trying to impersonate an alligator. It was black with rows of orange markings and double-branched spines. Interestingly, the size of the larva is actually larger than the size it will be as an adult.

Habitat:

Spotted on vegetation next to a pond in a deciduous forest.
