Yellow Poinciana Tree

Peltophorum pterocarpum

Habitat:

Native to coastal areas from Sri Lanka through the Malay archipelago and Indonesia to northern Australia. Planted as an ornamental, it is very popular here along South Florida streets.

Notes:

Along with the purples of the Jacarandas and the Orange of the Royal Poincianas, the bright yellow flowers of this tree make the Spring and Summer streets of South Florida quite spectacular.
