Spotting

Description:

I found this the other day while stranded on the side of the road. it was partially buried in the dirt. After finding the skull i began finding more bits and pieces. Would really like to know what this is. Im in the process of cleaning and whitening the pieces.

Here's what I'm thinking: It looks like a canine skull with the front snapped off. The breaks line up with where the maxilla (upper jaw) and nasal bones would attach. There also appears to be a molar still attached, which at least from this angle looks pointed. The location of the infraorbital canal (the little hole under the eye socket) also points to a canine. The fact that the back of the cranium is smooth, instead of having a sharp sagittal crest, makes me think it is a domestic dog's skull. Some breeds of dogs have the sagittal crest and some don't. It just depends on how wolfy they are. Final answer: Puppy Dog.

Some measurements or something for scale would help. Also add some more photos of the teeth area and the bottom and sides of the skull.

It looks like a cow skull, with pieces broken off around the eye sockets and nose
