Description:

The underside has yellowish pores that bruise easily. The stem is red and the top of the cap (pic2) is dark grayish brown.(edible)

Habitat:

Spotted in a mixed old growth forest near the Snoqualmie river. Often associated with Douglas fir. Found solely in western North America from British Columbia south to Mexico.
