Sub-tropical rainforest.
Really loud squawking.
It's crazy to think this little guy is in the same family as his much bigger brothers and sisters. Way cool!
No problem Peter. I like ratites (although our Emu are pretty scary up-close), and I knew I'd seen photos of this bird before. Tinamous are "parked" in a transitional stage between flighted and flightless, and therefore the most like all ratites' common ancestor. Cool, huh?
