Mournful Sphinx

Enyo lugubris

Description:

This is yet a third variant of the Mournful Sphinx in our area. They all look superficially like different species and I always have to study the markings carefully. This species also has a little crest on the head, as you can see in pictures 3, 4 and 5. Family Sphingidae.

Habitat:

Came to the parking lights of a shopping mall on the outskirts of San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
