Tortoise Beetle

Description:

Tiny little beetle with green carapace.

Habitat:

I was watering my plants (we are now facing a heatwave during the monsoons) when I noticed a drop of molten gold on the rain lily leaf. It was this tortoise beetle. I have cropped the photo a lot to show the lovely indentation pattern....but it is green, not gold. I wonder how the light tricks the eyes.
