Gloeophyllum sepiarium

Description:

A reddish brown fungus with yellowish margins. Though it is called a polypore it has in intricate gill pattern underneath (pic2). Known to cause brown rot - wood decay. Not edible.

Habitat:

Spotted on lumber in the backyard.
