Apiomorpha gall - female

Apiomorpha pileata

Description:

Galls about 20 mm long. They had slightly thick bases and rose straight from stems. There might have been an apical hole. The galls appeared to be slightly ridged. Older galls were parasitised ( Pic 3)

Habitat:

Spotted on peppermint Gum (Eucalyptus radiata) in a flora reserve (Langwarrin)

Notes:

These are immature female galls.
Male galls were seen on the same tree
