Soldier Beetle with a very peculiar thorax, banded in red and ending in rounded melted looking balls. About 1.5 cm long. All the rest of the body was black. Family Cantharidae.
Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
