Aquilegia caerulea
The state flower of Colorado. The petals are commonly pale blue, but they can also be red, yellow, or pink.
These are found all over the Rocky Mountains in the United States. This picture was taken in the southern Mount Evans Wilderness west of Denver.
This may be a Rocky Mountain columbine (Aquilegia saximontana), a slightly different species found in the same area that looks almost exactly the same. But my understanding is that the Colorado Blue is more common.
