Giant Clam

Description:

The ultimate gardener would be at one with his garden. The soil would be his own flesh, the food that he eats would be shared with his plants and he would protect it as he protects his own life. This describes the Giant Clam, that has specialized veins that do not carry blood but hold rivers of algae inside it and flow behind patches of see-through skin to let the sunlight in. Algae that is fertilized from the food the clam eats and is protected by hundreds of eyes.
