The common wood pigeon is a large species in the dove and pigeon family. It belongs to the Columba genus and, like all pigeons and doves, belongs to the family Columbidae.
Yes, it is a juvenile. You can actually still see the down feathers typical of chicks in his/her underparts :-)
Thank you for the ID Marta! Could it be that this bird is still a juvenile? (since the typical white markings and yellow beak are missing)

This is a common wood pigeon baby (houtduif in Nederlands). They are very common pigeons in Flanders. The babies just look a bit more scruffy :-)
