Description:

The Common Bush Blue or Bush Bronze (Cacyreus lingeus) is a butterfly of the Lycaenidae family. It is found in Africa, south of the Sahara. The wingspan is 22–27 mm for males and 22–28 mm for females. Adults are on wing year round, with a peak from October to February. In exceptional situations adults may be on wing in winter months in cooler areas.

Habitat:

Grounds of Murchison River lodge, beside the Albert Nile River.

Notes:

This species occurs in degraded rainforest, open dry forest, acacia scrub, arboreta, gardens, parks and along roadsides. It is found primarily in lowland areas, but also occurs in hill forests and on the lower slopes of mountains and river valleys.
