A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Diameter: 95mm, height: 80mm. Lots of fragments of veil are seen. Also observed are multiple rings.
This and other similar mushrooms around it are spotted in this thick forest, mainly of silver firs, varieties of rhododendrons, etc. These specimens were found growing on an old silver fir log. Nearby is a feeder stream of a large lake. The area remains covered with snow for over six moths. Altitude: 4,000m.
This is a restricted area. We obtain special permission from the government, camp there in their bungalow and go around to observe beauties of nature.

Thanks Christine Y., Greg and maplemoth662.
Thanks Antonio. The top view is similar to those of the nearby mushrooms in the following posts. I've included some notes about the habitat there.
Thanks Daniele. I've been trying this worm's view angle since long for mushrooms. I'm happy that you liked it.
WOW! Gorgeous shot!
Wow,beautiful capture Dr.When you make photos to ID a mushroom,is very important to take shots of every possible angles and in certain species only with a cut of the body ,spore prints and in the case of the russula sp. only with microscopic photos of the spores is possible to make a 100% sure ID.If it was in Europe i could make a guess, but i dont know anything about India fungi :-) so i cant elp you on that.Another thing that is important is the trees ,or logs where they grow, congrats on this special photo and thanks for sharing.
Splendid shot Dr.!
