Beautiful bird!

Not quite sure, it might even be an offering for courtship. We watched some of them snatching these from each other when they arrived so they must be highly prized. You can get close but don't try to get any closer than the distance between two nests or you might get a nasty peck!

Cool. We saw a colony at Farewell spit, but couldn't get anywhere near that close to them. Great photos!
