Black-capped chickadee

Poecile atricapillus

Description:

The chickadees in this area were amazingly bold. They flew right in front of me and fluttered in place (just a few inches from my face!) and generally seemed annoyed that I wasn't giving them food, haha. I guess they've been feeding them in that area, since there were also lots of seeds on the ground.

Habitat:

Marsh

Wow, the ones around here are quite skittish. I'm used to the gray jays being that brazen! Sounds like an interesting experience.
