Lenny, I think this may be a species of leaf mimic grasshopper. Chorotypus sp. might be a good place to start, and it's a common genus found in SE Asia. Chorotypus gallinaceus perhaps? Hope this helps.
Great shot. This is probably a nymph and will look different when it has its wings. This might assist in your ID efforts.
Wow thats an awesome find. Looks like a cross between a grasshopper and a leaf bug.
I found a couple of images online which are the same (or very similar) species, but no ID. I tried hooded grasshopper search also, to no avail. Keeps coming up with Teratodes monticollis. Not the same. hmmmmm
