Yellow-winged Digging Grasshopper

Acrotylus longipes

Description:

Acrotylus longipes inhabits mainly dunes area with fine sand. It is very difficult to see them on the sand. In bad weather they dig themselves in the sand. It has yellowish hindwings.

Habitat:

Coastal dune.

Notes:

Acrotylus longipes is found in the northern half of Africa, Southwestern Asia and partly Southern Europe. It also occurs in the Canary Islands.
