Orchard Orbweaver

Leucauge venusta

Description:

Beautiful spider with an elongated, white abdomen that was marked with yellow, black, and green. The cephalothorax was yellow/tan and had stripes along the sides and a single stripe down the middle. Legs were mostly green.

Habitat:

I found nearly a dozen on these spiders inside of a wigwam. Most were under the roof, which was made of bark. The light shining through the cracks in the bark made the spiders' legs glow like glow sticks in the darkness of the wigwam. It was pretty cool!
