A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Hi Joseph! Please can you add the scientific name so that we can take this off of the "unknown" list & add a link (wikipedia etc) to the references. Because we have a global user base & sometimes many different common names for the same species, the system will continue to show a spotting as unidentified until the scientific name has been completed.
The colours on this are beautiful! That blue is wonderful :) Really great photos!
Very similar in size and appearance to the Malachite Kingfisher of Southern Africa.
Me encantaria conocer mas de ellos.... son muy parecidos a los colibri de Ecuador. aca abundan las flores y ellos pescan desde el aire... saludos desde la mitad del mundo
This one with a clean dark orange beak is the female..the one with the blackish orange beak is the male. It's really really small !!! got this shot with a 500f4LIS and a 1.4x tc ll..
I can't stop staring at this bird. So tiny and beautiful!
What does it mean the red bill? Because I was looking at some pictures and I saw other ones with black bill, or red and black bill, but I couldn't find a reference for it.
