Description:

This is a picture of a Seven-spotted Lady Beetle being held by a participant in first photo. Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle (Harmonia axyridis) in the second photo.

Habitat:

This picture was taken at a rooftop garden located at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Notes:

The participants were at a Roof Top garden at the Brooklyn Navy Yard where they were learning about different plants and their uses in our society.

There are actually two different species of Lady Beetle here! The first picture is a Seven-spotted Lady Beetle, Coccinella septempunctata. http://bugguide.net/node/view/3543

The second picture is a Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle, Harmonia axyridis. http://bugguide.net/node/view/397

These should be split into two separate spottings so they can be identified appropriately.
