American Bird Grasshopper

Description:

This grasshopper has a brown head and big, black, beady eyes. It has a pinkish brown body with 2 black stripes and black dots on the side. It has little black stripes on its legs. Its range is Florida year round. In the summer, it lives north to Ontario and in southern parts of Canada. It eats grass and other plants and leafs. They destroy farmers crops and they are considered pests.one last fact about this grass hopper is They make high whistling buzzes when they are flying.

We found this insect in a field by the school.
