Here are some of my girls with their clutches (http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/569...). As you can see they now come in lots of colors. The wild type is black with some white in the wings.
I had no idea, how interesting. As a duck hunter, we prize several different dabbling ducks for their flavor, but I tend not to think of them as livestock. Thank you for sharing lori.tas!
Because they make a very good backyard egg-layer and meat producing breed. In fact moscovys are second only to Peking ducks in term of the most popular meat breed. They just happen to be very good at surviving on their own if they get loose or are dumped.
I have a flock of five at the moment.
Ah the Muscovy. Not sure why people thought it would be a good idea to transplant these "beauties" all over the place
