Description:

A small species of the family Kinosternidae. The three light stripes on the carapace may not be present in some individuals.

Habitat:

Canals, swamps, ditches, flooded fields, etc.

Notes:

I observed this Striped Mud Turtle crossing the road in Everglades National Park during a rain shower.
