Paropsisterna nupta
Length approx./6mm
Coastal Woodland
Found on Dwarf Banksia ( Banksia oblongifolia )
Great one!
The paint is just looks like a seashell's, that I have seen in my childhood... Shockingly the same, as it stays in my memories...(!)
The same interesting analogy by some cats with fur pattern, very similar to some slug species. (Whether you know, what I mean.)
...(?)
That is interesting.
I have not seen these in Victoria yet and this information might make the difference. I have only one in my reference collection and would like a male specimen. Are you willing to send me one or several, at my expense, if you find more?

Thanks Martin, I saw four of these beetles over a few days & all wer on the dwarf banksia
Hello mac. Nice observation. I would expect this on tea tree but happy to take Banksia. This is about as far north as records go for this species but not a lot of data to go on. I have a single record of a similar but undescribed species further north of the range (NSW border) but I am pretty sure yours is nupta.
