Scarab Beetle

Description:

Large Scarab, 3 cm, red-brown in color with bright orange hair on the ventral side, face and peeking through the thoracic crack. It has orange eyelashes and an orange mustache. The elytra are lightly pitted. This is probably the female of one of the Rhinoceros Beetle species. Family Scarabaeidae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
