Spotting

Description:

Small orb-weaver (4mm body length), red with two short protrusions on each side of the abdomen, and two black spots towards the tip; legs are dark with a bronze sheen. It had built its small orb web just a couple of inches above ground at the base of an old tree stump.

Habitat:

Tropical rainforest in the Ecuadorian Amazon region.
