Red-lipped batfish

Ogcocephalus darwini

Description:

This is a very funny looking fish. It reptates by the sandy bottom and is endemic of Galapagos Islands. it can be seen after a certain depth. It has fins that look like arms, thick red colored lips, and the pattern as shown in the pictures. Is a nice sighting when scuba diving in the Galapagos. I saw this one while diving around Isla Genovesa.

Habitat:

Sandy bottoms of the seas around Galapagos Islands
