white-tailed deer

Odocoileus virginianus

Description:

A young white-tailed buck. There were a couple of smaller deer nearby which I could not photograph due to the thickness of the herbaceous vegetation. This is the closest I've ever walked up to a wild deer.

Habitat:

Riparian woodland at Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. http://www.opkansas.org/things-to-see-an...

Notes:

Spotting marker approximate.
