Fern

Dicksonia antarctica

Description:

-Fern is plant with many species in Pteridophyta division. -Its a vascular plant, -reproduce by spores, -no flowers and no seed Here in Malaysia, we call it Pokok Pakis aka Fern Tree

Habitat:

The fern grows on damp, sheltered woodland slopes and moist gullies, and they occasionally occur at high altitudes in cloud forests. Nowadays, people have it as decoration plant in their yards, and at park. Its because its easy to find and doesn't need extra attention to maintain it.

Notes:

The ferns are an ancient lineage of plants, dating back to at least the Devonian. They include three living groups, Marattiales, Ophioglossales, and leptosporangiate ferns, as well as a couple of extinct groups. An additional group, the Psilotales, is tentatively included in the ferns, though the group is so vastly different from living ferns that no one is really certain of its relationships.
