Aquila adalberti / Aegypius monachus
It was observed in 'la portilla del Tietar' in Monfrague National Park. It was about nine in the morning. We watched the Spanish Imperial Eagle (190-220 cm wingspan), a very endangered eagle, and everybody were following it with the binoculars and telescopes, then we saw a Black Vulture (280-310 cm wingspan) approaching, another large bird not common for watching, and the eagle went very fast and attack the Black Vulture bottom. After it everybody were very surprised, and the birds flew away by different ways

A impresionant moment. The best photo was in your heads!!!! :)
Tasmania is a world unto itself, and a beautiful one at that. I love living here. I've added some more shots of the wedge tail eagle and the ravens (when NOAH first started we could only put one photo in each spotting). http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/337...
And here's a better shot of a wedge tail: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/337...
Thank you Dangermouse, I think that Spanish Imperial Eagle is the most endangered eagle of the Iberian peninsula, they are really difficult to see. We are very lucky :)
Lori, you live in a wonderful place, your pics are awesome. Tasmania must be a paradise to observe nature.
I have seen a few Spanish Imperial Eagles here in Portugal, but never managed to photograph one as of yet. That is an amazing shot, great that you could see it and caprture it!
Cool.
We live on the edge of a 1000+acre reserve, and we get lots of raptors flying over. The local birds are usually none too happy to see the predators. Another spotting I got recently was of ravens attacking a white goshawk - http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/596...
Wow, what an awesome site to have witnessed.
