It belongs to the buttercup family Ranunculaceae. It is a Mediterranean plant introduced in Northern areas of Europe as garden plant and now also growing wild in some of these areas. This one may have been cultivated or spreading from a garden area.

A side of a road next to lakes, Zoete Waters.
