Crab spider in action

Thomisus onustus, Apis mellifica, Echium vulgare

Description:

The spider was about 8 mm long (without legs), yellow and white

Habitat:

flowers ( meadows, fields, parks, gardens)

Notes:

I saw this little fella by accident, I was walking by, and noticed the bee unnaturally hanging around - then I saw the crab spider holding the bee. It wasn´t even good camouflaged on the blue flowers.

If they camouflage them selves according to the flower they sit on ,then they must be using visual cues to change the colour of their body to adjust to the surroundings!! I find that very fascinating. The ability to blend into the surroundings.
I know that a cat sees differently. Red is Green to a cat!!

I don´t think they are poisonous. They camouflage themselves like the flowers they are sitting on. Usually they are white or yellow - did u know when they are young they can change color?
