Habitat:

swamps and marshes. All year in South Florida, Caribbean, and most of the South American Amazonian forest. Winters on central American and southern US coasts.

Notes:

There were many in a larger flock of mixed wadding birds (see last photo) consisting of great egrets, roseate spoonbills, and white ibis.
