White Fly Agaric

Amanita muscaria

Notes:

Spotted in a grassy spot behind my old school in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Close to a few small streams, in a damp forest preserved for it's unique plant and bird life. Taken with Sony DSC-W130. If I remember correctly, it was about 6 inches tall.

The Destroying Angel, (another of the Amanita family, as well as the Death Cap) for their toxic qualities.
The Shaggy Mane (Coprinus comatus) because of the ruffled look and how when they start to break down, it looks like thick sticky ink.

And now for some reason I can't remember my last one! ha ha

Welcome to Noah, Eliese ;D
I`m in love with these mushrooms, as well. The red ones are awesome, they`re so fairy tale-esque. I really wouldn`t have guessed this was the same species, haha. I learn something new every day here...

I'm used to seeing the red and white as well, this is beautiful!

It's one of my 4 top mushroom favourites!

Thanks for the ID! It does look very similar, but why is this specimen white? Is it because of its age, or something?
