Psilocybe

Psilocybe squamosa

Description:

Some 10cm tall mushroom, light brown hat and stem, covered with white fibrils or hair, with dark grey gills. I'm not 100% sure in my ID, but some photos found on the Net looks close to this. If my ID is correct, Psilocybe is also known as Stropharia squamosa.

Habitat:

Foothills of Jura massif; forest floor of a wooded area, deciduous trees mainly.

Notes:

If my ID is correct, this one is not consumable... but the entire genus is best known for the species with psychedelic properties.
