Japanese Beetle

Popillia japonica

Description:

a beautiful copper beetle with iridescent green highlights and black and white banding on the side and belly --- seen here murdering my rose bushes.

Habitat:

Native to Japan, seen as a pest species across the US, especially the south

Notes:

I don't use Japanese Beetle traps, I've heard they lure more beetles than they kill.
