Florida Fighting Conch

Strombus alatus

Description:

Unlike most other seashell dwellers, they didn't hide in their shells when we picked them up to put them back in the water. Instead, they waved their "feet" around in the air wildly. Video of these two waving around: https://youtu.be/Ps1oy87DplI

Habitat:

Washed up on shore at high tide on Sanibel Island
