Description:

Antanartia delius, the Forest Admiral, is a butterfly in the Nymphalidae family. They are attracted to rotting fruit.

Habitat:

This species is found in forest glades and clearings, along logging roads, in forest edge habitats, and on overgrown farmland. I saw this butterfly on bushes by the side of a dirt road running through the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, SW Uganda. Unfortunately it didn't open it's wings...

Nymphalidae, Nymphalinae, Antanartia sp. and should be Antanartia delius.
