Carduus defloratus L.

Description:

This plant from the Asteraceae family measures from 10 to 90 cm and has a straight naked stem at the end of which a head is found, carrying purple flowers.

Habitat:

Rocky or dry lawns in the Alps, Jura and Pyrénées, from 200 to 3000 m above sea level. Spotted here at 1800 m.

Notes:

Flowers from June to August.
