Lepus arcticus
Large hare with very large feet. Winter coat is pure white, except the black tip on the ears. The summer coat is bluish grey. Legs are always white. The large feet help running over the snow.
Arctic Tundra, usually close to shrubby areas for food and cover.. It feeds on leaves, roots and bark of willows and herbaceous plants. In winter, it moves to windy slopes where the snow cover is thiner.
